Golden Gate 30

The Golden Gate 30 was designed by Chuck Burns for the small family that wished to go ocean cruising. There are few 30-foot fiberglass boats built today that have the strength and beauty of the Golden Gate 30. She has proven herself time and again by making long ocean passages in comfort and speed.

Building Considerations - At Odyssey Yachts we specialize in building custom offshore fiberglass boats. All of our designs and boats are built in our Oakland California loft with the finest materials. Each hull is hand-laid into our one-piece mold, with choice of molded-in colors. From her sleek deck to the hefty full keel, she is a boat for the sea. Any boat is only as good as her hull and ours is one of the best in the business.

Odyssey Yacht Sales - The president of Odyssey Yacht Sales is George Sigler who started sailing by teaching sailing for the Dallas, Texas YMCA. After serving five years as a pilot in the Nave, he sailed a 15-foot rubber lifeboat from San Francisco to Hawaii to test a survival kit he developed. He is past commodore of the Single-handed Sailing Society and sponsored the first single-handed race from San Francisco to Hawaii. George’s philosophy for ocean sailing is stated simply, “Thing of the worst possible conditions that can be encountered and build accordingly. Chuck Burns and Dan Arena are the designer and consultant who bring skill and know-how to our designs. Chuck is a well-known designer of all types of sailing craft from “Rolling Stone” to the Golden Gate. Dan Arena has designed, built and raced in almost every major competition in America. He is unsurpassed in the field of fiberglass boat construction. Dan’s designs in clued Miss Golden Gate, which won both the president and gold cup; the Notre Dame and Miss United States1. Our real pride however is our laminating crew and production people who make realities out of our demanding specifications. Our people take pride in knowing that we take no short cuts in building some of the finest ocean boats in the world.
